Thanks for the heads up. I went QBM to Leica M, I have a Helical adapter I could use to shorten close focus, and I'm getting a Techart Pro again, so will use on that as well. Will check out the link if I need to adjust still.ravduc wrote:This is an excellent lens. I own several copies, use them on my A7ii, and they are all good. If you purchase a qbm to nex adapter you will find that the lens will need adjustment to focus to infinity.

This is very easily corrected by following these instructions:One more thing, you will also have to file down or cut the small flat, pointed pin which runs close to the rear element. If you don't, it will likely interfere with the aperture ring by rubbing inside the adapter.

I had actually done that to mine and forgot because it was so easy.

I didn't remember until I saw the first few seconds of the video, LOL. I actually don't use my Rollei much since I got the Sony FE 50/1.8, but I usually supplement the Sony with an adapted 50, and the Rollei HFT is in my top 2 (the other being a Minolta PF f1.7 for more character.)One more thing, you will also have to file down or cut the small flat, pointed pin which runs close to the rear element. If you don't, it will likely interfere with the aperture ring by rubbing inside the adapter.I didn't have this problem AFAIK. I'm using a from Rainbow Imaging.

I thought I looked it over as I was inserting it and didn't see anything alarming about things lining up. In any case, I don't have any issue changing apertures. Perhaps all this part depends on the adapter manufacturer. I'll update later after I can look it over again.-Kelly. I have one of those and it seemed pretty nice before I put it on my shelf of to-do projects (mine has some hazy fungus and construction that is slightly different than I can find online so it threw me for a loop). I'll have to take it out again - thanks for the reminder!I've read that the both the Voigtlander Color Ultron 50/1.8 and the 50/1.8 Carl Zeiss Planar in QBM are the very same lens, or at least use the same optical formula and some of the same components. I've also read that the HFT coating was co-developed by Zeiss and Rollei but that T.

was still marginally superior. In any case, the Rollei HFT versions seem to be the cheapest route to a Zeissy Planar. Kelstertx wrote:ravduc wrote:This is an excellent lens.

I have a cheapie adaptor and have no focusing/aperture issue.-KellyJust as an update, I did have a problem turning the ring to all the apertures when I adapted the lens to M43 using. I had to have it only about half way screwed onto the adapter to be able to hit F8. Rather than investigate and try to solve the issue, I pretty much just decided to use the Konica 50/1.8 instead.

I might sell off the Rollei with my A7rII, but I want to do some more testing between the three contenders to decide which one to keep. The other contender being the Minolta MD 50/2. I doubt any of them will stand up against the Panny 25mm f1.7 asph with the EM-10mkII's 2X digital teleconverter turned on, but we'll see.-Kelly.

I can't remember about sharpness. No experience with either lens but I still wonder whether this magazine got a dog from Rollei for testing;Met vriendelijke groet, ErnstNo photographer's gear list is complete without the printer mentioned!
