First, I r the most current version of Minecraft, 1.3.2. Most mods for that version is extremely easy to install. Now, I known that 1.4.1 is comming out soon, so I can't t garentee that this will j there. Also, u a new version of your.minecraft folder.First, d the c version of the mod that goes with your minecraft version.Next, get Forge Universal (look it up on YouTube).Using WinRaR or some a program, o up your minecraft.jar f in your.minecraftbin folder.Delete the meta-inf folder.Open up the forge.jar f and drag all of the d into your minecraft.jar -Sart minecraft and let forge b up.next, in your.minecraft folder, you should see v new d and folders. The ones you will be required are mods and coremods.Most new mods just required to be positioned in one of the 2 f c above, and thats it. Some n have v instructions. Make c you 're reading what that mod says to do on the homepage of the mod.
Tips: If you 're haveing p u a fresh.minecraft, maybe it is your Anti virus soft ware. Try d it w you download. ( I known that AVG 'm not letting you d it unless you dissable AVG). If you get a black screen on b up, make c you followed the above instructhins PRECICLY.
Not just 1 or 2 of them. You may also 've got the i version of the mod for your minecraft. Most mods arn't u to 1.3.2 yet, but they ought to be soon.
(NEI and Forestry are already updated). Some mods required to be positioned in your coremods folder, not the mods folder. (like NEI and its core, CodeChickenCore) IMPORTANT!!! If you don't get these g or get a black screen, s look up the mod you wish to get on YouTube. Usually, it isn't your computer that is making minecraft crash, just that you did a wrong. Last but not least, I can't e the s of the versions!
Make SURE you 're getting the r versions of everything, otherwise it will always crash!

The old launcher works for me in offline mode, but that's because I had the game back before the new launcher, so i had the old launcher structure. However, after some googling, it appears offline only works if you had a file in.minecraft/bin called 'version'. Without it, the launcher simply will not let you log in. Not sure how this helps, but still worth mentioning.

The file has a Unix timestamp in it, as well.I suggest to get offline mode to work, to make a folder in.minecraft called bin, and then open a command prompt in the bin folder and enter in 'type NUL version', then, open the 'version' file with a hex editor (I use Frhed) and enter in '00 0d 31 33 35 35 39 39 39 32 34 33 30 30 30' and then copy 1.7.3 jar from from.minecraft/versions/b1.7.3 to the bin folder, and rename it to minecraft.jar. And then just download,. You need to extract the windowsnatives jar file into.minecraft/bin/natives (the natives folder won't be there, make a folder called natives) Then simply run the launcher, and it will work in offline.
